For Gator fans who endured the lost decade of Florida football, highlighted by quarterback play that left much to be desired, good news is on the way. Dan Mullen is quickly bringing that dreadful era to a close by returning top notch quarterback play to the University of Florida.
Could Dan Mullen have again landed a superstar in QB prospect with Jalon Jones? Some analysts argue that this prospect was underrated throughout his high school career because he attended powerhouse St. Xavier in Maryland, a school notorious for power football and mostly running the ball.
He certainly looks the part, as Jones checks in with good size at 6’4″ and 203 pounds. Most impressively, he clocks an official time of 4.45 seconds in the 40-yard dash. That is the same speed that Chris Rainey posted at the NFL combine… at the quarterback position.
Jones, who made his plans to attend Florida official with a signed letter of intent, worked on his passing game at a recent Florida camp. Take a look in the video below:
